Shaygan Kheradpir was born in London and quickly moved to Iran. He grew up in Iran and attended high school in Switzerland. Soon after completing high school he moved to the United States to complete all three of his degrees at Cornell University. Little is known about how he grew up or what his parents were like. It is documented, however, that his father was an ear, nose, and throat specialist possibly providing income sufficient enough to travel as often as Shaygan had done growing up. Shaygan Kheradpir is truly an incredible individual. With determination and drive he completed his Bachelors degree, Masters degree, and PhD at Cornell University. He knew throughout this time that he was meant to work with electrical engineering and control systems technology and his impressive resume proves this to be true. He continues to keep in touch with Cornell University to this day.
Shaygan Kheradpir has much to be proud of. His long list of accomplishments and job positions include CEO at Juniper Networks, chief operations and technology officer for the Barclays group, and president of the eBusiness Unit and chief technology officer for Verizon. While these certainly are not the only positions held as a technological genius, these three positions certainly stand out. He was known for working long hours with his staff of over 7 thousand people at any given time. He was also known to take few breaks and work through vacations in order to go above and beyond for the companies he served. Many employers have noted his innovation and ingenuity to be superior to many others.
Shaygan Kheradpir has been known by many as a wanderer of sorts. He moved many times growing up and attended school in more than one country. Upon receiving his final degree he proceeded to move many times around the United States of America following his job. This speaks volumes on his dedication to work.
Kheradpir has also been known to serve the United States of America in other ways. He was on the Advisory Board of the YMCA of Greater New York from 2007 until 2010, on the board of the United States National Institute of Standards and Technology from 2010 until 2013, and continues to be a member of the Cornell University Engineering Council.
It can be said that Shaygan Kheradpir is an incredibly dedicated and hard-working individual. He is a role model for all who wish to follow their dreams in electrical engineering and control systems technology. Kheradpir is an excellent example of what it means to work and follow dreams.
